Feast Fairly x Cub !

One of our food suppliers, Foodchain, has invited us to join Feast Fairly, a campaign that connects chefs and suppliers allowing them to work closely using surplus, waste or imperfect ingredients and putting them into delicious dishes. Some of these ingredients get discarded for reasons such as odd sizes or shapes or because they are the by-product of a more valued item, but they are still incredibly useful in the hands of talented chefs who appreciate the flavour over the appearance of their produce.

The Feast Fairly campaign also highlights many products that would usually go to waste through faults in our current supply chain, for example, kid goats that would otherwise go to waste as a result of the dairy industry and pullet eggs which come from hens that are just getting into the swing of laying eggs - the wrong size for the market but equally as delicious and nutritious!

To support them, we will be using the mentioned ingredients for our dishes and donating £1 per cover to the charity they work with, Refettorio Felix, who aim to feed the most vulnerable in our community. Our menu will be designed in a progressive way, adding these products gradually throughout the month -highlighting the value of these ingredients and the importance of how we view food.
